This modern Palo Alto home off prestigious Crescent Drive reimagines a Spanish Revival through a dramatic remodel and expansion. Palo Alto architect and interior designer Ryan Borman preserved the original front façade and introduced a curving granite driveway lined with mature olive trees. Two glass wings extend the plan into dual H-shaped courtyards with granite cobbled terraces, anchored by a massive folding glass wall that opens the central courtyard to the interiors. Exposed white steel moment frames and custom timber trusses are wrapped in curtain wall glazing, creating a bold structural expression. Interiors feature milky white concrete floors, a Bulthaup kitchen, and hand-scraped walnut herringbone floors. A 40-foot cantilevered steel carport completes the design, blending historic character with contemporary architecture.
